Imphal, March 21 2016: Anti AFSPA crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila will appear before Patiala Court, Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi on March 28 and 29.Sharmila along with the staff of Imphal Jail, doctors and staff of JNIMS and State police personnel will leave Imphal on March 27 .

According to reliable sources, the department concerned of the State Government has sanctioned travelling cost for her trip to New Delhi along with others who are to accompany her.

Sharmila will appear before the Patiala Court, Metropolitan Magistrate on March 28 and 29 regarding the trial taken up against her by the Parliament Street Police Station for staging sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the repeal of Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act from Manipur in October 2006.After appearing before the Court, she will return the next morning.

Sharmila reportedly failed to appear before the Patiala Court, Metropolitan Magistrate on February 3 and 4 after the department concerned of the State Government failed to sanction her travel expenses up to Delhi.

She also failed to appear before the Court on Dec 15 and 16 last year as the department concerned failed to issue a medical certificate.

On the other hand, Sharmila who is presently lodged in judicial custody at JNIMS Security ward will appear before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal West Court tomorrow for the third time after she was pulled up by personnel of City PS for staging a hunger strike at BT Park on March 2, two days after her release from judicial custody by the CJM, Imphal West Court.
