Indo-Myanmar border meet on

Imphal, October 20 2016:
The 9th Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee Meet started from October 18 and will conclude on October 21, said the PRO of Assam Rifles in a statement today.
A 19 member delegation from Myanmar, consisting of officials of the Army and Civil departments attended the meeting.
The Indo-Myanmar Regional Border Committee Meet is a bi-annual landmark event which provides opportunities for representatives of security forces and civil establishment of both the Nations to discuss and resolve crucial issues relating to border management, bi-lateral cooperation and terrorism, said the statement.

The forum is a platform for the delegates to brainstorm on various issues and exchange information, thereby further strengthening the bond between the countries.
The Indian delegation was headed by Major General SS Mishra, GOC Red Shield Division and the Myanmar delegation was headed by Brig Gen Thet Pon, Commander, North West Command.
They were accompanied by other civil and military officials of their respective countries.
