Imphal, May 20 2021:
The State Government has asked individuals and organisations, which wish to donate medical oxygen cylinders and concentrators to do so through the Government or healthcare institute concerned.
A statement issued by the DIPR yesterday said people shouldn't fear that there would be a lack of medical oxygen.
The State Government is taking up all efforts to maintain uninterrupted supply of medical oxygen to Covid patients, it said.
Amid the increasing cases of Covid infections, the healthcare workers and all frontline workers are performing their duties 24x7 .
Those who are willing to donate medical oxygen cylinders and oxygen concentrators may do so through the Government or the healthcare facility where the Covid patient(s) needing oxygen is/are being treated.
People or organisations should not donate medical oxygen cylinders or concentrators without the approval and permission of the doctor or authorities of the healthcare institutions concerned.
In case, the oxygen cylinders or the concentrators do not meet the required standard and if the same are donated without the permission of the doctor/authorities concerned, then the Government will not be held responsible for any unwanted consequences that may occur.
Also, the Government will not be responsible for inconveniences that may occur when refilling the oxygen cylinders.
The oxygen cylinders and concentrators should be procured from authorised dealers only and permission should be sought from the doctor/authorities of the healthcare institution, said the Govt as per a DIPR report.
