Imphal, August 19 2015: Judicial Magistrate First Class, Imphal West today remanded all the eleven accused including a Jemadar of Manipur Rifles and police commando Sub-Inspector to judicial custody till September 2 in connection with the alleged circulation of a nude photograph of a married woman.

Since early morning, locals of the victim woman gathered at Cheirap Court complex after getting information regar- ding their appearance in the Court.

A large number of police personnel including women personnel rushed to the Court complex and dispersed them.

Later, all the accused identified as Jemadar Maibam Soni (31) s/o M Shyam of Keishamthong Thangjam Leirak, Imphal East commando Sub-Inspector Maibam Uttam (35) s/o Motimala Ngangom of Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak, Nitai Yambem s/o Y Bihari of Wangkhei Ayangpalli road, Kshetrimayum Hopeson (19) s/o Ksh Shamungou of Wangkhei Thangjam Leikai, Khangembam Shitaljit (21) s/o Kiran of Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Thiyam George (19) s/o T Tikeshwore of Bamon Kam-pu Mayai Leikai, Akoijam Jelson (19) s/o AK Ibotomba of Bamon Kampu Mayai Leikai, Soubam Samananda (26) s/o Shyam of Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai, Mutum Premjit (35) s/o M Amujao of Khongjom Leipung, Mutum Romesh (30) s/o (L) M Naoba of Khongjom Lei-pung Mamang and Namei- rakpam Somorjit (31) s/o (L) N Momon of Thoubal Kiyam Siphai were produced before the Court under FIR number 331 (8) 2015 of Imphal police station under Section 506 IPC and 67/67-A of IT Act.

The Court remanded all the accused to judicial custody till September 2 .

When Court proceedings were going on, the womenfolk shouted slogans demanding befitting punishment to the accused for tarnishing the image of the victim woman at the gate of the Court complex.

Victim's family and a few selected people were allowed to attend the Court proceedings.

Later, police took away all the accused to Central jail, Sajiwa after pushing the angry locals back from the Court gate.

It may be mentioned that all the accused were pulled up by Imphal West district police on August 13 for allegedly circulating a nude photograph of a married woman on social networking site and WhatsApp.
