Imphal, March 19 2020:
Accusing two teachers of being involved in buying the question papers of the Class X examination or HSLC examinations conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM), DESAM has questioned why the police have arrested only some individuals for allegedly leaking question papers of the examination while these teachers are left scot free.
Speaking to media persons at DESAM office today, its vice-president Sheetal Oinam claimed that following the leakage of the Class X examination question papers, the Government constituted an enquiry committee to investigate the matter.
In a similar fashion, DESAM and AIMS also formed an enquiry team and began investigating the leak.
During its investigation, the team found that two teachers from Thoubal area, identified as one Lisham Robinson and Atao Rahman, were involved in buying the MIL question papers at around Rs 40,000, Sheetal alleged.
The vice president further claimed that the team was only investigating the MIL question paper leak but the team found that the said teachers had been involved in such practices (buying of question papers) for other subjects as well.
Questioning the logic of the police behind jailing the individuals involved in the question paper leakage, yet letting such teachers go free, Sheetal demanded the authorities concerned to punish the teachers immediately.
Investigation is also underway regarding the leakage of Class XI question papers and similar development might spring up, he concluded.
