Cease work stir

Stating that they are likely to resume their suspended cease work stir soon, JAC of All Manipur Trade Unions Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) has urged all the employees, workers and pensioners to get ready for the stir.
In a statement, the JAC said that the date for commencement of the stir would be decided in a meeting to be held on September 20 .
The statement said that a meeting between JAC representatives led by its president Dr M Rajendra and Chief Minister Okram Ibobi was held to discuss JAC's 28-point charter of demands yesterday.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Principal Secretary (Finance) Dr Suresh Babu and Secretary to Chief Minister N Ashokumar were also present at the meeting.
The Chief Minister told the JAC representatives that the Government would not be able to clear all the due DAs/ DRs and others as adequate funds are not released by the Central Government, the statement said.
However, the Chief Minister asked the JAC representatives to hold another round of meeting after the agitation in hill areas is resolved.
As the Chief Minister's response was not positive, JAC is now ready to resume the suspended cease work stir soon, added the statement.
