Dimapur/Delhi, December 17 2013:
The much awaited formal talks between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM are yet to resume.
Earlier the formal meeting between the NSCN-IM leaders and the representatives of the Government of India was reportedly slated for December 17, according to media reports.
Meanwhile, today, 15 NSCN-IM leaders led by the outfit's chairman Isak Chisi Swu left Dimapur for New Delhi.
NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah is already camping in New Delhi.
Top outfit leaders including Rh.
Raising and Tuccu are among the 15 members who left Dimapur today for the national capital.
Isak Swu returned to Nagaland from Delhi a few days ago.
Disclosing this information in New Delhi this evening to Newmai News Network by someone very close to Th Muivah, he said the leaders have arrived at the national capital this evening and that the formal talks will resume "any day" from now.
When queried on the most likely date he said, "It is very difficult to say but any day from now" .
Meanwhile, an intelligence source in Dimapur informed NNN tonight that the resignation of RS Pandey as the interlocutor has changed the date of the resumption of the talks.
It is also speculated that the NSCN-IM is not willing to talk to Union Home Secretary North East in-charge Shambhu Singh.
It can be recalled here that the recent statement of Union Home Secretary North East in-charge Shambhu Singh's on the Indo-Naga peace talks had irked the National Socialist Council of Nagalim, Isak-Muivah (NSCN-IM).
The Naga outfit then advised the Union Home Sectetary to restrain himself from commenting on the Indo-Naga 'political' talks.
Meanwhile, a separate source from the NSCN-IM disclosed that definitely the formal talks between the NSCN-IM and the government of India will be held within this week itself.
It can be mentioned here that NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu, the outfit's general secretary Th Muivah and 12 other NSCN-IM leaders had left Dimapur for New Delhi on November 19 to resume the peace parley.
It is also worthwhile to note here that the last time NSCN-IM leaders Isak Chisi Swu and Th Muivah had met the representatives of the government of India was the first week of December last year.
Since then both of them chose to remain mute while the elusive Naga political solution keeps laymen as well as intellectuals busy in the world of speculations.
Now, it has been just 12 months that the dialogue between the government of India and the NSCN-IM has not been resumed.
NSCN-IM general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah had come to Nagaland on December 18 last year for the Christmas and ever since he was confining to the outfit's base Hebron, off Dimapur until November 19, 2013 when he had left again for New Delhi.
