Imphal, January 17 2021:
Water Resources and YAS Minister Letpao Haokip today extended a helping hand to the Poirei Nawakon Orphan Home, Achanbigei, Imphal East.
Together with his family members and relatives, Letpao visited the orphanage and presented blankets to the inmates.
He also interacted with the administrators of the home and took note of its requirements.
The orphanage was set up in 2006 by the Meitei Leimarol Shinnai Shang and it has been taking care of orphan girl children from different parts of the State.

Although the children home has been recognised under the Juvenile Justice Act, it has not received any aid or grant from either the State Government or the Central Government, according to the administrators.
Speaking at a simple held at the orphanage, Letpao Haokip said that he is always preoccupied with the thought to help the needy and underprivileged sections.
He then exhorted all the inmates of the home not to be ever disheartened but work hard with perseverance in order to achieve their goals in life.
Pledging that he would provide the children home's annual requirement of rice, Letpao Haokip assured all possible assistance from his personal side as well as from the side of the Government.
