Committee formed to accord approval

Imphal, September 15 2022: The State Government has constituted a 15 member committee with Education Minister Thounaojam Basantakumar as chairperson to accord approval for publication of books pertaining to history, culture, tradition and geography of Manipur.

As per an office memorandum issued by the Government, the members of the committee include Vice Chancellor of Manipur University Prof L Lokendro; Vice Chancellor of DM University Prof N Rajmuhon Singh; Vice Chancellor of Manipur University of Culture Prof P Gunindro; HoD (South East Asian Studies), Specialisation in Modern Indian History, Manipur University Prof H Sudhirkumar Singh; HoD (Geography), DM University DY Kaoba Singh; HoD in-charge (History), Specialisation in Modern Indian History, DM University Lunneikhup Vaiphei; Assistant Professor (History), Specialisation in Modern Indian History, Manipur University Dr Chungmeijai Mathew MK; Assistant Professor (Geography), GP Women Women College, DM University Dr Md Baharuddin Shah; Assistant Professor (History), Specialisation in Ancient Indian History, GP Women College, DM University Dr Ngangom Meeta Devi; Assistant Professor (History), Pettigrew College, Ukhrul Dr Esther Keishing; Assistant Professor (History), Lamka College, Churachandpur Khamkhotinsei Touthang; Prof W Nabakumar (retired from MU, Department of Anthropology, specialisation in social and cultural anthropology) and retd Associate Professor (History), Lilong Haoreibi College Dr N Birachandra.

The Government informed that any person/group desirous of publication of books on the history, culture, tradition and geography of the State may submit an application to the Director of University & Higher Education, Manipur along with a copy of the manuscript of the book.
