National Lok Adalat organised at Chandel and Thoubal

The District Legal Services Authority, Chandel held the 3rd National Lok Adalat for Chandel and Tengnoupal Districts today under the aegis of Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA) and National Legal Services Authority at Court Complex of the CJM, Chandel.
According to a press release issued by Masana E Panmei, Secretary, DLSA Chandel, a total of 2 benches were constituted in the said National Lok Adalat.
Bench No 1 was presided by Masana E Panmei, MJS, Secretary, DLSA, Chandel as chairperson along with Rk Mohendro Singh, Advocate and Jacky Lucy, Retainer Lawyer as members of the bench.
Whereas, Bench No 2 was presided by Fakhrul Islam Choudhary, MJS, Judicial Magistrate First Class, Moreh as chairperson along with M Gairanlung, Assistant Public Prosecutor and Keishang Kopham, Advocate as members of the bench.
A total of seventy bank recovery cases and two pre-litigation/pending cases were listed.
Out of the total cases listed, seventeen bank recovery cases were settled and disposed.
Meanwhile at Thoubal, the District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal organised the National Lok Adalat today at the District & Sessions Court Complex, Thoubal at Khangabok.
According to a press release issued by Dr Laishram Rina Devi, i/c Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Thoubal two benches were constituted with Samom Ibjen, District & Sessions Judge, Thoubal and Waikhom Tonen Meitei, Judge, Family Court, Thoubal as chairpersons and Advocates Khaidem Babita Devi, Khangembam Arunjoy, Chongtham Manishwar Singh and Khoisnam Lembisana Meidingu as members.
The Lok Adalat began from 8 am and continued till 1:30 pm.
A total of 268 cases including 2 criminal cases, 2 civil cases and 1 NI case from the courts of Thoubal and 283 pre-litigation cases including cases from banks within Thoubal and Kakching Districts were referred to the National Lok Adalat.
Out of the total number of cases referred, 5 (2 criminal, 2 civil and 1 NI case) cases and 29 pre-litigation cases were taken up.
Out of which 1 NI case and 27 pre-litigation cases were settled, amounting to a sum of Rs 51,64,323 while a sum of Rs 8,15,200 was collected/recovered in the event itself.
