Fertilizers provided to members of AUFA at subsidized rates

Imphal, August 14 2021: Arapti Urup Farmers Association (AUFA) should work earnestly to make the fields of Arapti Urup green throughout the year and focus on good production.

The above statement was made by the Joint Director of Social Welfare, Konthoujam Banti while providing fertilizers at subsidized rates to the members of AUFA at Arapti Awang Leikai today.

He continued that majority of the population of Manipur and other states of the country is engaged in agriculture and allied activities and the farmers are producing food for the entire country.

Stressing on the importance of being self reliant, he appealed to the members of AUFA to strive and contribute in making Manipur, a self reliant State without depending on other states for food.

Born and brought up in a farmer's households, he stated that he still works in fields though he is a Government employee now.

He also declared of extending monetary assistance of Rs 3,000 (Rupees three thousand) monthly to AUFA to be used in times of need.
