Manipur becomes first in NE to implement Integrated Health Information Platform

Imphal, December 13 2019: Integration Health Information Platform (IHIP) for Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) was launched by Health Minister L Jayantakumar Singh at the conference hall of Health Minister, Secretariat South Block, Babupara today.

The programme was attended by V Vumlunmang, Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare and Dr K Rajo Singh, Director, Health Services, Manipur.

At the event, Health Minister Jayantakumar said that implementing the IHIP is a step forward for universal health coverage.

Every case will no longer be just a number.

It will have an identity with real time coordinates.

Now, reports will be more accurate and decision making will be easier and faster.

The benefit of this platform will reach to every corner specially the remote places, he said.

It may be mentioned that Manipur is the first in the North-East and 8th State after Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Karnataka, Telangana, Kerala and Andra Pradesh to implement the IHIP.

The IHIP will connect all the health establishments, he added.

Principal Secretary Health Vumlunmang Vaulnum said that 11 Sub-Centres of Bishnupur district have ANMOL Tablets.

By using these tablets, authorities can share health related data and information with doctors and hospitals concerned more easily.

Immediate medical relief and treatment will also be made possible through this platform, the Principal Secretary said.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Health Services, Manipur Dr K Rajo Singh said that IHIP will prevent fragmentation of health data all over the country.

It will also integrate the data and its sources from public and private units, Dr Rajo said.

Regional Director Ministry Of Health Family Welfare (MoHFW) was also present at the launching occasion.
