Youth jailed for circulating nude snaps

Aizawl, June 13 2011: Mizoram police on Friday arrested Lalbiakzuala of Aizawl Venghlui for spreading the naked photos of his ex-girlfriend.

Lalbiakzuala is known to have taken the naked photos of his ex-girlfriend hailing from Reiek on his mobile phone camera way back in 2008 .

Reiek is a tourist spot in Mizoram and is only 12 kms away from the capital Aizawl.

Meanwhile, after learning recently that Lalbiakzuala was spreading her naked pictures she lodged an FIR with the police, sources said.

It can be noted that with the advance of technology, crime and immoral activities have become rampant in Mizoram.

A survey in 2010 had revealed that there were about 70 genuine sex videos circulating in and outside the State.

What is more surprising is the revelation made by the people involved in this videos.

More than 60 percent of them said that they did the videos on their own volition.

Synod Social Front (SSF), an organ of Mizoram Synod, the biggest Church body is doing its best to contain this menace by organising awareness campaigns and seminars.

The Synod Social Front of the Mizoram Presbyterian Church (Mizoram Synod) has blamed the use of cellphones for rising pre-marital sex among youngsters in the Christian-dominated State.
