Dr Sekharjit furnishes Zima bond Court directs CBI to release seized articles

With former RIMS Director Sinam Sekharjit furnishing a Zima bond of Rs 2 lakh, Sessions Court, Imphal West today directed the CBI's Anti Corruption Bureau to release all his seized articles.
The directive came after Dr Sekharjit filed a Vakalatnama at the Court on May 2 .
The seized articles include sales deed dated 30/7/2004, agreement of sale and purchase of three sheets dated 15/7 /2004, agreement of sale and purchase of three sheets dated 15/7/2004, reinvestment certificate CSPC/E 203021 23/12/2009, reinvestment certificate CSPC/E 203021dated 9/7/2009, LIC policy certificate and document in the name of son, daughter and wife of Dr Sekharjit, Max Life Insurance policy document and ATM card.
These articles and documents were seized by CBI during a raid.
The Vakalatnama along with an affidavit was filed before the Court on May 2.During the hearing held on May 11, CBI counsel told the Court that he had no objection in the release of Dr Sekharjit's seized articles and documents.
Dr Sekharjit furnished the Zima bond by appearing before the Court and the bond was identified by Advocate Salima Nongjai.
After the bond was checked and found correct, the Court accepted it and ordered the CBI/ACB to release the seized articles and documents.
Rape accused produced before Court : Accused of two different rape cases have been produced before Imphal West Special POCSO Court today.
The first accused has been identified as Ram Prakash from Bihar and he is a mason by profession and presently staying at Wahengbam Leikai.
He was pulled up by the locals of Mongshangei for allegedly raping a girl and handed over to the police on May 3 .
He allegedly raped the girl by making false promise of marrying her.
It is said that Ram Prakash is engaged in the construction works of the girl's uncle and he presented gifts and mobile phones to the girl to woo her.
Imphal west women police station has taken up an FIR bearing number 24 (5) 2016 under Section 6 of POCSO Act against Ram Prakash.
After 10 days in police custody, Ram Prakash was produced before the Court today.
He was remanded to judicial custody for seven days.
The accused of the Heirangoithong rape case identified as Laishram Boicha of Heirangoithong bazar was also produced before the same Court under FIR number 26 (5) 2016 of Imphal west women police station under Section 6 of POCSO Act today.
It may be mentioned that the sexual assault case of the 6-year-old-girl was reported on May 9 after a complaint was made by the girl's mother at Imphal West women police station.
Medical examinations of both the accused and the girl had been conducted on May 10 at the Department of Forensic Medicine, RIMS.
