The JAC
Against 'Anti-Tribal Bills' has
called a 15-hour shut down of
Lamka and its vicinity on March

against alleged subjugation,
marginalization and exclusion
policies of the State
Government towards tribals.
Gun salute would be paid
to 'tribal martyrs' and a mass
prayer programme would be
held at Lamka Public Ground
on the same day, according to
a press release issued by the
JAC.
All shops and establish-
ments would down their
shutters and no vehicle would
ply on the roads from the
midnight of March 17 till 3

respect and mourning for the
nine tribal 'martyrs'.
However, all essential
services including water sup-
ply, electricity, health care,
telecom as well as vehicles
ferrying students and teachers
for the ongoing board exams
would be exempted from the
shut down.
No volunteers would be
engaged for the total shut
down.
The onus would be on
the public to show their soli-

and support for the cause of
the Manipur tribal movement.
Apart from appealing to
offer gun salute to the 'mar-
tyrs' at 9 am of March 18, the
JAC appealed to the public to

Ground for a mass prayer at
5 pm of the same day .
The programme will conclude with the release of 200 flying lan-
terns by 200 Pastors and Church elders as a tribute to the nine
'martyrs', the JAC conveyed.
