Imphal, November 12 2021:
The All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) has asked if the widespread land issues prevalent in Manipur are a consequence of lapses on the part of the Revenue Department.
A press release issued by AMUCO stated that the recent incident at Chingkham was very unfortunate.
Saying that AMUCO is aware of the tense situation prevailing at Chingkham after hearing from both the Kabuis and Meitei Pangals residing there, the organisation appealed to all to exercise caution and find a solution through dialogues.
AMUCO further stated that land issues are chronic in Manipur as conducting demarcation starting from neighbourhood to locality levels is often objected to by one or another.
The organisation then urged the department concerned to find a solution for all the land issues and shun activities that could generate volatile situations.
AMUCO also appealed to all the Kabuis and Meitei Pangals of Chingkham and surrounding areas to refrain from indulging in activities that could create animosity and misunderstanding towards one another.
AMUCO would not allow anyone to give communal colour to any issues, it added.
