MOMA procures cabbages and plums from Tungjoy

Imphal, June 12 2021:
To ease the inconveniences being faced by farmers in selling their produce during the Covid induced restrictions, Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) has procured cabbages and plums grown in Tungjoy village of Senapati district for sale to consumers in Imphal via home delivery service.
The procured 1.5 metric ton of cabbages and 2.5 plums are now stored at the cold storage facility of Horticulture and Soil Conservation at Sanjenthong.
According to Project Director of MOMA, K Devdutta Sharma, home delivery of vegetables and the fruits will start from tomorrow onwards.
Saying that the agency (MOMA) will continue procuring agricultural products from different places to ensure farmers' year long works are not wasted, he appealed to all farmers to continue growing fruits and vegetables.

The MOMA will also continue extending all possible help to organic farmers, he assured.
One Khou Stephen from Tungjoi village thanked Chief Minister N Biren Singh and MOMA for working in the interest of farmers.
He said that farmers in Tungjoy village practise organic farming and appealed to the people of Imphal to taste the fresh fruits and vegetables grown in the border village.
Tungjoy is a village situated along the border of Senapati and Nagaland.
It may be mentioned that Chief Minister, N Biren Singh launched MOMA Market mobile application for home delivery of fresh vegetables on May 14 last.
