Imphal, May 12 2017:
Altogether nine members of Tamenglong ADC who were elected on tickets of different political parties have joined BJP and a felicitation function was held in their honour at the Nityaipat Chuthek office of BJP Manipur Pradesh today.
Speaking at the gathering, BJP Manipur Pradesh president K Bhabananda remarked that people still continue to appreciate and praise different policies and programmes taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Meanwhile, more and more people of Manipur have started reposing heir faith in the BJP-led coalition Government.
The previous Government did not enjoy such high level of people's trust.
Driven by a conviction that the incumbent BJP-led Governments of the State and the Centre can expedite development, Members of different local bodies have joined BJP on their own volition, Bhabananda said.
He went on to claim that Manipur now abounds with 'lotus'.
With a firm determination to bring communal harmony and rapid development in hill areas, Chief Minister N Biren launched a special initiative under the banner "Go to hills" .
Development would remain a mirage if there is trust deficit, he continued.
The Churachandpur issue has been successfully resolved.
Whatever communication gaps that existed between the hill people and plain people have been plugged in and the Government has been working hard to build a united and strong Manipur, Bhabananda said.
Welcoming the ADC Members who have joined BJP, Education Minister Th Radheshyam claimed that the Tamenglong ADC Members joined BJP because they have seen how the coalition Government has been working for the welfare of people under the leadership of Chief Minister N Biren and BJP Manipur Pradesh president K Bhabananda.
Parliamentary Secretaries K Robindro, S Subhashchandra, MLA Samuel Jendai and many BJP leaders were also present at the felicitation function.
