Imphal, December 10 2021: The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold a two-day programme under the theme "Peace and Development" on December 11 and 12 to take suggestions and blessings from prominent leaders of Manipur to win the impending State Assembly elections impressively.

Speaking to the media at Nityaipat Chuthek today, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi stated that the objective of the two-day programme is to highlight the ideology of BJP and make the people aware of the various schemes taken up by the Government.

Reiterating that the party is eyeing to win over 40 seats in the Assembly election, which is due in early part of 2022, Sharda continued that the BJP is seeking the blessing of the people to meet the target.

The BJP chief stated that all party workers, including Chief Minister, Ministers and MLAs will meet prominent leaders of the State such as doctors, lawyers, DCs, Professors and religious leaders among others during the 2-day programme and take suggestions and blessings from them.

Another programme will be held on December 12 at Khwairamband Ima Market in connection with Nupi Lan Day, she said and informed that the party workers will observe Nupi Lan Day in every women's markets located in different Assembly Constituencies.

Maintaining that the involvement of women in decision-making bodies has increased slightly after 33 per cent seats has been reserved for women in some elected bodies, Sharda continued that the position of women in Indian politics is still low.

Continuing that the Prime Minister strongly advocates empowerment of women socially, culturally and politically, the BJP chief maintained that the BJP will also take suggestions and blessings from women vendors.

A Sharda Devi returned from Delhi along with Chief Minister N Biren Singh and BJP National spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra today.
