Districts creation issue UNC cautions mischief mongers

The United Naga Council (UNC) said today that there are certain “political parties and their workers, groups and individuals" working very hard in connivance with the State Government against the interest of the Nagas regarding the district creation issue .
The publicity wing of the UNC said that "these elements are investing maximum efforts which will definitely hurt the sentiments of the Nagas" and added that the Nagas take the district creation issue very seriously .
"However, these elements are working very hard while investing resources against the interest of the Naga people," added the UNC .
Cautioning “those political parties in question, groups and individuals", the UNC said that it is closely monitoring the situation.
It further cautioned those elements, groups and political parties in question to "retract from their game plans" .
It added that such moves of the vested interest elements have come when tripartite talks on the district creation issue are seriously going on .
The UNC appealed to the “tribe hohos” to monitor or check in their respective jurisdictions to ensure that no one works against the interest of the Naga people.
“The inherent rights over our land and identity cannot be compromised under any circumstances,” asserted the UNC .
On the next round of tripartite talks regarding the district creation issue, the UNC said that "very soon the talk will be held" .
However, it did not mention the precise date of the talks.
"In the last tripartite talks it was agreed that the talk will be held in September," said the UNC adding," The date for the next round of tripartite talks will be fixed any day from now" .
