Imphal, February 10 2016:
About 1600 delegates from 16 Naga ethnic tribes besides thousands of delegates from different parts of India and abroad will take part in this year's State level Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration to be held at Ukhrul district headquarters on February 14 and 15 .
Cultural dances of the Nagas and Mizos, folk songs presented by South East Asia Hohoi and Cultural Centre and Hunphun Khanuithot Cultural Research Forum, Ukhrul, special numbers from Vania Chawang, Chonchon Varah, Chipem Lungleng, MOD Girls Band and Mengu Suokhrie, fire lighting, tug of war, other cultural items, traditional attire parade, tradi- tional fashion parade, special number by Philachui Luithui, Yursari Ngalung and music interlude by Mengu Suokhrie will be the main highlights of the celebration, said a press release issued by the organising committee.
Lui-Ngai-Ni is celebrated in Naga districts on rotational basis and this year's festival will be hosted by Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) .
Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang and IGAR (S) Maj Gen VS Sreenivas will grace the first day as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla and Naga Hoho .
president Eno Chuba Ozukum will attend the second day as chief guest and guest of honour.
UNC president Gaidon Kamei, the functional president of Lui-Ngai-Ni 2016 will hoist the festival flag on February 13 .
Echo School of Music, Ngalayo Ingpudang, Wung Hira and Tangkhul Yorla will entertain the delegates.
