Active Covid cases stand at 233

Imphal, August 09 2022:
The State recorded 31 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours while testing 456 samples and registered a single day positivity rate of 6.8 per cent.
The 31 new cases were confirmed at RIMS (3) and other testing centres (28) and they are residents of Imphal East (5), Imphal West (7), Thoubal (3), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1), Pherzawl (1), Ukhrul (3) and Churachandpur (8) .
Today, the number of patients recovering from Covid exceeded the fresh cases reported in the last 24 hours as 42 persons were discharged from home isolation (28), RIMS (4), JNIMS (2) and SHRI (8) .
With this update from the Covid Common Control Room, the State now has 233 active Covid' cases while the recovery rate stands at 98.30 per cent.
The period didn't witness any Covid related fatalities and as such the death toll remain unchanged at 2,138 .
Among the districts, it was Churachandpur which reported the maximum fresh cases as 8 out of 56 samples sent for confirmation returned positive while Thoubal reported the highest TPR at 15 per cent during the period as three out 20 samples sent for confirmation returned positive.
As per the Government bulletin, JNIMS has 29 vacant Covid beds while RIMS has 43.Yesterday, the State distributed 29 D-type and 12 B-type oxygen cylinders to different health facilities and on the same day, 1586 Covid vaccine doses were administered.
In terms of Covid vaccination, Kangpokpi is at the bottom of the table as the district has fully vaccinated only 17.99 per cent of its total eligible population while Chandel occupies the top post by administering the 2nd dose of Covid vaccine to 71.24 per cent of its eligible population.
Overall, the State has fully vaccinated 54.14 per cent of its eligible population while another 62.25 per cent have taken the first dose of the vaccine.
