Thoubal, November 08 2015:
One day discussion on the theme "Peaceful Co-Existence" was held at Maryland village in Chandel District.
The programme was jointly organised by National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO), United Peoples Administrative Council (UPACO), Thoubal Ima and Maryland Village Authority.
Maryland village Chief Mayarchung; Thoubal Ima President S Bimola and Peace Foundation Committee, Manipur President Yaima Maring were taken on the dais as presidium members respectively.
Speaking as resource person, Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) Convenor Khomdram Ratan stated that Manipur is a multi-ethnic State, various communities residing together in peace and harmony.
However, some people were interested in creating division among us by instigating one community against the other, said Ratan.
Ratan pointed out that Manipur does not belong to only just one community.
However, some vested interests have been constantly attempting to disintegrate its territorial integrity, unity and brother hood among communities living coherently in the state for years.
"Everyone should stand for unity among the communities and act against all strategies to break the State.
If the people unite together, the plan to break the State will be ineffective," said Ratan.
He appealed all to be vigilant against the Central Government's policies and face all "internal and external" challenges.
