Imphal, November 08 2012:
The State Home Department has decided to study the unfolding law and order situation and table the CorCom's threats to outsiders in order to work out and adopt a policy decision.
The CorCom had in the recent past set a deadline for outsiders to leave Manipur and had even listed the names and addresses of people who have rented out their places to outsiders.
A highly placed source informed that the State Government has been perturbed by the spate of bomb attacks against security forces since the past few months and the repeated armed confrontations among UG groups in Tamenglong district.
Taking serious note of the evolving situation, the Home Department has decided to table the matter in a Cabinet meeting so that a policy decision can be adopted.
However, the Cabinet meeting would be held only after Chief Minister O Ibobi returns from Australia.
In the meantime, the State Government has decided to consult the Union Home Ministry regarding the demands of KNO and UPF which are under SoO pact with both the State and Union Governments.
Earlier the spokesman of the KNO had stated that it was disillusioned with the slow pace of SoO though it is already 7 years now.
