Churachandpur Assembly Constituency NPP candidate and ex-Minister, Phungza-thang Tonsing has strongly condemned the attack on his residence by a group of people.
Phungzathang Tonsing went to JN Hospital today, to meet the four individuals who were injured in the attack.
The injured persons are Mangkholal (28) from New Lamka Vengnom, NK Maang (54), Changpu (25) and K Paupi Ngaihte (50) from New Lamka Chiim-tung Veng.
Paupi suffered shoulder injuries while the other individuals sustained trauma.
Speaking to media persons, Phungzathang said that the charges made against him by a particular candidate accusing him of hurting some workers are false and baseless.
He strongly condemned the act of spreading false rumours and the violent attack at his residence adding that such kinds of actions are inhumane.
"Voters should vote for their candidates in a democratic manner.
There are no places where a group of people barges into someone's home and start beating them mercilessly based on some rumours", Phungzathang said.
