Bid to end land dispute

Some NGOs have extended a friendly hand to resolve the tension between the villagers of Aimol and Saivom villages in Chandel district.
There had been some clashes among the villagers in the past inflicting injuries.
On Tuesday, representatives of National Identity Protection Committee, United Peoples Front, All Manipur Tammi-Chingmee Apunba Nupi Lup and Apunba Nupi Kanglei Ima Lup along with reporters visited the villages for a friendly interaction.
The talks were held on the understanding that there is a need for the restoration of harmony between the villagers.
Village elders also gave a blow by blow account of the confrontations and continuing friction.
After listening to them the representatives of the NGOs appealed for cordial relationship remembering the fact that all of them of the same roots.
There should be a peaceful co-existence without more untoward incidents.
These NGOs shall extend full cooperation to a lasting solution through law court or customary laws.
Seeking cooperation from all sides the NGOs said that the peoples in the State are of the same origin and the majority should not swamp the minority.
