Chief Minister trumps transparency of Government

Chief Minister N Biren Singh has stated that the State Government always maintain transparency in taking up any development work.
He said this while attending a free uniform distribution function organised by Samagra Shiksha, Manipur at Babupara, today The Government gives special attention to the education sector and has been providing free school uniforms and books to girls and children belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes and Below Poverty Line families studying in Government schools up to Class VIII, he added.
Regarding the surge of COVID-19 cases in some States, N Biren informed that the State Government had issued a notification making it mandatory for anyone entering the State to carry negative COVID-19 RTPCR test reports done within 48 hours.
Continuing that the notification might cause inconvenience to people entering the State but the same is crucial to prevent Covid spread, N Biren appealed to the public to maintain Covid appropriate behaviors all the time.
Mentioning that Manipur has been witnessing developments in all sectors during the last five years, the Chief Minister informed that the Government had also chalked out plans to develop RCC roads in Greater Imphal areas and other District Head Quarters.
Education Minister Sorokhaibam Rajen stated that enrolment rate in Government schools has improved considerably after the introduction of the School Fagathansi Mission.
During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed two sets of school uniforms each to students of different schools.
The number of students eligible for receiving free school uniforms for the current financial year is 1,41,445 consisting of 72,407 girls, 39,975 boys belonging to ST, 2,831 boys belonging to SC and 26,232 boys from BPL families.
Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba, Commissioner (Education) M Harekrishna, Director (Education S) and SPD Samagra Shiksha, Manipur L Nandakumar, ASPD, Smagra Shiksha, Manipur T Phulen, officials of Education Department, teachers and students of different schools attended the programme among others.
