Imphal, June 06 2019:
Kangleipak Students' Association is planning to launch a verification drive to check whether or not the schools affiliated/ recognized by BOSEM and COHSEM followed the necessary rules and criteria during the recognition process.
Speaking to media persons at KSA head office at Khoyathong today, its general secretary Seram Hemjit said that the Ching Tam Foundation for Innovative Education, Yairipok, was granted temporary NOC for affiliation to Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) by an order of the Secretary Education (S) on July 5, 2016 but the NOC was rejected some months later the same year.
He alleged that on getting information about the submission of fake documents to COHSEM for getting affiliation, KSA volunteers carried out an investigation/inquiry and it came to light that the document/land patta of an area measuring 0.882 hectares at Yairipok Bamon Leikai submitted by the school for recognition was fake.
Submitting such fake documents to get recognition is condemnable, he said adding that this act is a complete violation of the COHSEM modified rules and regulations.
He further said that it amounts to cheating to get recognition and as such the school's submission was rejected by the authority concerned.
He then appealed COHSEM and BOSEM to conduct proper inspection before giving recognition/affiliation to a school.
On the other hand, he alleged that there might be some wrong doing on part of COHSEM and they might also be involved in the conspiracy and appealed to the Government to take action against the school authority and the officials of COHSEM who are involved.
In light of this, KSA has decided that it is a must to thoroughly check whether the schools in the State are following the necessary rules laid down by COHSEM and whether the school got recognition through proper channel and as such volunteers of KSA will launch necessary drive in the days to come, said Hemjit.
