Imphal, July 05 2014 :
After a massive protest rally was taken out at different parts of the State yesterday, the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has categorically stated that their next course of action would be determined by the Government of India's response.
KIM claimed that yesterday's rally was in pursuance of their demand to adjudicate NSCN-IM leadership in a proper Court of law for killing hundreds of Kukis and ravaging their villages during 1990-97 .
Speaking to media persons at Kuki Inn today, KIM president Thangkhosei Haokip remarked that yesterday's rally was a huge success.
If the Government of India continues with its callousness even after the protest rally, the next course of action would be chalked out soon and it would be shaped by the GoI's response or non-response.
The protest rally of July 4 was not against any particular community.
It was aimed at giving a clear message that GoI should put the NSCN-IM leadership on trial.
The rally had no element of seeking compensation.
Justice has not been done even after 14 years of the massacre.
Thangkhosei also reminded that more than 60 memoranda have been submitted to GoI seeking justice for the victims.
Thangkhosei reiterated that NSCN-IM massacred 905 innocent Kuki people, razed 360 villages and displaced around one lakh people.
KIM general secretary Khaimang Chongloi decried Jiribam ADC's prohibition of peaceful rally.
Saying that they sought permission for holding the rally two days before schedule, Khaimang maintained that either the ADC is incompetent and disrespectful.
The Government should transfer away such officers.
Reacting to press statements issued by the UNC and some other organisations in connection with the rally, Khaimang maintained that they should first clarify whether NSCN-IM's armed campaign was against the Government of India or Kukis.
