Meet against trifurcating Zeliangrong tribe

A consultative meeting of Zeliangrong leaders was held at Lodiram village, NC Hills, Assam today to discuss the decision taken by Tatar Hoho of NSCN/GPRN on March 23 to recognise Zeme, Liangmai and Rongmei as separate tribes and adopted many resolutions in the interest of the Zeliangrong community.

Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) and Zeliangrong Baudi (Assam, Manipur and Nagaland) today stated the meeting resolved to uphold the order of late president of NSCN/GPRN Isak Cisi Swu issued on June 30, 2011 which clearly stated that Zeliangrong region Will remain intact.
Taking serious note of the widely circulated report that the final agreement between NSCN (IM) and the Central Government may not include the Zeliangrong people and their ancestral lands in Assam despite the fact that Zeliangrong people have allowed Naga National Workers to take shelter and carry out their work for achieving the Naga political solution, it mentioned that the unity of Zeliangrong people is indestructible and the Zeliangrong people will not accept any solution which will render the Zeliangrong as the victim of the Naga political solution.
It also mentioned that the Zeliangrong people had served ultimatum to NSCN/GPRN, with April 30 as deadline, to revoke the decision of the Tatar Hoho and added that the meeting resolved that the Zeliangrong people will not succumb to any forces which may threaten the unity and integrity of the Zeliangrong people.
The meeting was attended by many social leaders, executive members, members of Autonomous council, Goan Bura of different villages, elders, intellectuals, scholars, Government officers, religious leaders, women's leaders, youth and students' leaders etc.
