Martyred BSF man laid to rest

The funeral and wreath laying ceremony of BSF Sub Inspector Paotinsat Guite, who was killed in the line of duty in Rajouri, Jammu, was held at his native village, Maphou Kuki, Senapati district today.
SI P Guite of the 59 Battalion, Border Security Force (BSF) was killed on the LOC (Line of Control) at Rajouri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir on December 1.He made the supreme sacrifice and got martyrdom while valiantly fighting against Pakistan trained militants and Pakistan army during an infiltration attempt and attack on the BSF Post deployed on the LOC in Rajouri Sector of Jammu and Kashmir killing one militant and injuring two others during the fight, said the BSF in a statement issued today.
Hidam Shubol Singh, Commandant Officiating DIG, Manipur Sector BSF led the ceremony today with the BSF guard of honour.
Vikash Kumar, Officiating Commandant and Awadhesh Kumar, 21C, 182 Battalion BSF, all the Coy Commanders of 182 Battalion along with the troops of 182 Bn BSF attended the funeral and offered their last respect and befitting tribute to the gallant martyr who fought valiantly for ensuring the security and defence of the borders of India, said BSF.
Shilla, ADC, Island Block, Shah Amjat Ali, SDO Island Block and Inspector Umar Alam, OC, Maphou East along with locals of his native village and surrounding villages also offered their last prayer and tribute to the martyr during the ceremony.
