Imphal, April 04 2013: An IED which was found planted over a bridge along National Highway 37 near Lansonbi Bazar, Patsoi was recovered by 18 Sikh Regiment of 9 Sector Assam Rifles today.

On the other hand, another IED which was found fitted inside a pressure cooker along the road side at a spot in between Litan Police Station and Sangkai village was blown off by Ukhrul Police.

The IED at Patsoi was detected by troops of 18 SIKH, who were patrolling the area.

A suspicious looking polythene bag with wires jutting out was found on side of the bridge.

The troops cordoned off the area and stopped traffic flow along the route for some hours.

Explosive Detector Dog of 18 Sikh confirmed the presence of explosives in the polythene.

Later, Army Bomb Disposal Squad was called in and destroyed the IED which weighed around 2.5 Kg.
