Gorkha students pay last respect to late soldier

A team of the All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union along with Manipur Gorkha Youth Association visited the residence of Late Rifleman Tek Bahadur Thapa (Son of Kharka Bahadur Thapa) who was a victim in the Tupul landslide.
The team was led by its president LB Adhikari along with general secretary Nitesh Dabadi, finance secretary Dharmin Shiwakoti, games & sports secretary Rajen Thapa, cultural secretary Som Limbu, PA to president Raj Rijal and active members Bikash Poudel and Chandru Tiwari.
The team shared the pain and grief with the family during this hard times.
AMGSU also extended its sincere condolence and prayed to the Almighty to give eternal peace to the departed soul and to guide the family members of the deceased with patience, courage and enough strength to bear the loss.
AMGSU added that it stands with all the families of Tupul landslide.

Tek Bahadur Thapa was a jawan of 11GR (TA) posted at Makhuam (Marangching) Tupul two months ago to protect railway construction work and was burried alive in the tragic landslide.
He was the sole bread earner of his family.
He got married a year ago and is survived by his parents, wife and his younger brother.
The last rites of the brave jawan was performed yesterday at his residential village Leplen with full military honours.
Gorkha Community of Manipur is always indebted for his sacrifice and will always remember his bravery for the sake of Nation, said AMGSU.
Members of AMGSU and MGYA also visited Makhuam (Marangching) and provided relief items to the rescue operation team.
The student body also extended its gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Cabinet Ministers, Rajya Sabha MP, Leishemba Sanajaoba, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, district administration Noney, Army, Assam Rifles, NDRF, SDRF, CRPF, NF Railways, CSOs of different communities and local villagers for the tireless effort in the rescue operation.
AMGSU also extended its gratitude to the SDO Saikul, village chiefs of Leplen, G.Songmun and the adjoining villages for the support and cooperation till the funeral of Late Rfn.
