Trekking expedition

A 13 members team of Kumari's Wood Stalks School is planning to launch a 13 days trekking expedition to Everest three passes Nepal (Ultimate Challenge VI) from April 7 .
This was stated by Zenith Moirangthem, team captain of the expedition team, during a media interaction at Manipur Press Club today.
He said that Kumari's Wood Stalks School is a co education school affiliated to the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) since its establishment in 2004 .
The school has been promoting adventure sports in Manipur ever since.
Adventure is a part of the school educational extracurricular activities and the school pays great importance in promotion of adventure activities to the students, he added.
The main objective for the inclusion of adventure activities in the school curriculum is to imbibe and inculcate leadership quality, instill the desire and ability to overcome challenges, the desire to explore and develop spiritual and adventure spirit and to promote self confidence and the will to face hurdles and difficulties.
He informed that the school has organized many trekking expeditions inside and outside the State.
The school has carried out expedition at Dzongri La in Sikkim, Cherapunji and East Khasi hills of Meghalaya, the coastal line from Tamil Nadu to Mumbai (covering around 2400 kilometres), Everest base camp at Nepal and others.
The planned expedition is considered as one of the hardest as the expedition path is one of the highest trekking route in the world.
It is also known as Everest circuit, he informed.
A total of 257 kilometres will be covered by the expedition and the school is planning to cover the said distance in 18 days.
The 13 members team is comprised of three officials and seven students of the school.
