24 CPI members join INC

Altogether 24 active members of CPI belonging to Wangoo Terakhong under Kumbi A/C have today joined Indian National Congress under the leadership of MLA S Bira.
The 24 CPI members were enrolled in MPCC at the Wangoo Terakhong Mayai Leikai residence of Mutum Sanatombi.
Speaking at the gathering, MLA Bira welcomed all the former CPI members into the fold of Congress party.
There would be no shortage of water at Terakhong, Sabal Khunjao, Borayangbi and Naodakhong once the dam being constructed at Uyung is completed, he assured.
He said that Congress party would not do anything that may belie people's trust in the party.
A similar gathering was also held at Wangoo Terakhong Awang Leikai where some active members of Wangoo Terakhong Ward No 6 were enrolled in Congress party.
On the other hand, a felicitation function of newly elected Municipal Council and Nagar Panchayat Councillors and Ward Members was held today at Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai Leirakhong under the aegis of Lilong Block Congress Committee and Lilong Block Youth Congress Committee where Agriculture Minister Md Nasir was seated on the dais as chief guest.
Speaking at the gathering, Md Nasir said that a stadium would be constructed soon within Lilong A/C.
