MACS, Overcomers join hands to observe day

Imphal, December 01 2024: The Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MACS) observed the 37th World AIDS Day in association with the Overcomers at Kangla Western Gate today.

Held under the theme "Take The Right Path: My Health, My Right!", over 200 people from all walks of life lit candles at the venue of the programme in memory of the many lives lost to AIDS.

On this day, the World Health Organization also calls on people around the world to support the right to health and address the inequalities that are preventing the initiative to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The observance was led by Project Director of MACS Haobam Rosita, Social Welfare Director Ngangom Uttam, Mr South Asia 2012 & former brand ambassador of MACS Pradipkumar Khundrakpam and folk singer Benita Laishram.

Deputy Directors and staff of MACS, State Government officials, media personalities, teachers, sport figures, students, artists, police personnel, representative of bilateral partners of MACS and NACO, activists and CSOs working in the field of drug use and HIV/AIDS, local clubs and meira paibi lup also took part in the observance.
