Imphal, June 30 2021: Acknowledging that failure of of MLAs and Ministers to provide free food to inmates of Covid Care Centres is rather embarassing, Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Kh Joykisan has called upon all the legislators of the State to work collectively to ensure that there is no shortage of food for the inmates.

He, on the other hand, lauded Bazar community and individuals who have been providing lunch and dinner packs to inmates of CCCs.

While donating rice to Milan Group of Enterprises and Satyam Group of Industries, which have been providing lunch packs to different CCCs as a token of encouragement, the MLA said that fighting the virus collectively by contributing whatever he/she can at their capacity is the need of the hour.

Stating that families in containment zones face a lot of inconvenience in delivering lunch/dinner for their Covid positive members at CCCs, Joykisan added that those who are providing lunch and dinner packs for the inmates at CCCs deserve appreciation and support from all.

It is truly embarrassing that legislators who represent the people are not able to do what groups such as Milan Group of Enterprises and Satyam Group of Industries have been doing for the wellbeing of Covid afflicted families, the MLA said.

Let at least 10 MLAs/Ministers of the 60 come out to provide lunch and dinner packs to the inmates uninterruptedly, said the MLA.

It is time MPs, Ministers and MLAs work collectively to ease the hardship of patients at CCCs as well as their family members, he added.

Stating that the rate of Covid infections in the State is alarming despite unstinted effort from the Government to flatten the curve, he appealed to the people not to take the disease lightly.

Giving a balanced diet to the Covid patients is also equally important for them to recover fully, Joykisan maintained and further appealed to one and all to encourage and support those who come out to help during this time of crisis.

Announcing that he will start providing breakfast, lunch and dinner packs for Covid patients from Thangmeiband at RD Wing, Lamphelpat CCC, the MLA said, "Service to mankind is service to God".

He again lauded Milan Enterprises, Marwari Samaj and Satyam Group of Industries which have been providing lunch packs to over 1,000 Covid patients at CCCs regularly.

The MLA also stated that necessary assistance will be given to Milan Group of Enterprises and Satyam Group of Industries for them to continue helping those who need assistance.
