Imphal, December 31 2017: 5 JAK RIF of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) in association with an NGO Disabled Welfare Development Association (DWDA) organised an event for upliftment of the physically challenged, HIV positive and children Below Poverty Line (BPL) wherein they distributed gifts and sweets to all on the occasion of New Year.

The programme was attended by the chief guest Shri Thokchom Radheshyam Singh (Hon'ble Minister, Education & Labour) and Smt Laishram Shachirani Devi (Ex Principal, Ch.

Ibohal Institute for Mentally Challenged & Proprietor, Imphal Free Press and Patsoi Company Operating Base Commander Major Rishabh Singh Chandel.

Gifts and essential items were distributed amongst the children.

The effort of the Army/Assam Rifles in supporting the physically challenged individuals was lauded and deeply appreciated by the locals and the masses were encouraged to help facilitate the upliftment of the HIV positive individuals and those who are Below Poverty Line.
