Floral tributes paid to Irabot, martyrs

Kakching, September 29 2023: Writers' Association Kakching (WAK) observed the 127th birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot at the auditorium of Representative of Lois, Kakching Chumnang Leikai on Friday.

The observance was attended by WAK president Pukhrambam Nimai as president and GP Women's College retired associate professor & Sahitya Akademi awardee Kshetrimayum Rajeshwar and Kakching Higher Secondary School senior lecturer Nongmaithem Sunita as guests of honour.

The event was marked by paying of floral tributes to the photos of Hijam Irabot and others who sacrificed their lives to uphold Manipur's interest in the ongoing ethnic crisis.

A patriotic poetry recitation programme was also held as part of the observance.
