AR seizes liquor; holds medical camp, ESM meet

Acting on credible intelligence input, Assam Rifles launched search operation along the jungle route bypassing the permanent vehicle check post (PVCP) Khudengthabi, in Tengnoupal district on Wednesday during which 18 cases and 16 loose cans of beer and six cases of wine were recovered concealed in the foliage.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the total estimated value of the seized items is approximately Rs 94,300.The seized items have been handed over to the customs department, Moreh for further investigation.
On the other hand, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Changpol village under Khengjoi sub division in Chandel district.
A total of 139 civilians, including women and children were screened, and treatments and medicines distributed to those in need.
An Ex-servicemen (ESM) meet was also organised at Pallel in Kakching district by the Assam Rifles on Wednes day to strengthen the bond between Assam Rifles and its veterans in the region while addressing their concerns and needs.
A total of 121 ex-servicemen attended the meet.
During the meet, Assam Rifles presented information technology assets like computer with an uninterruptible power supply (ups), a laptop and a colour printer to the Ex-Servicemen Association of Chandel, demonstrating its commitment to supporting the veterans' community.
Interactive sessions were also held, providing a platform for ex-servicemen to voice their grievances, discuss redressal mechanisms, and seek assistance for various welfare-related matters.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball tournament among six villages of Moreh town at S Moljol village, Tengnoupal district on Wednesday with the enthusiastic participation from teams representing S Moljol, SL Mounpi, Govajang, Pangal Basti, Zion Veng, and Canaan Veng villages, the PRO conveyed.
