MEELAL hails uplift of Manipuri language

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL) has expressed gratitude to Governor Anusuiya Uikey for delivering her introductory speech of the 5th assembly session in Meeteilol, which is the lingua franca of the state, and also chief minister N Biren for promoting the Manipuri language.
In a release, MEELAL publicity secretary Soibam Arun Meetei urged the government to fulfil their demand for allocation of separate fund/budget for development and promotion of the native language and script.
He also thanked Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his cabinet ministers for acknowledging Manipuri language as associate official language in Assam's Cachar, Karimganj, Hailakandi and Hojai districts.
