CRPF units distribute sewing machines, solar lamps

Imphal, December 22 2021:
The 143 Bn CRPF conducted Civic Action Programme (CAP) on Wednesday by distributing sewing machines to poor families and under-privileged women of Sapermeina village in Kangpokpi district.
According to a release, besides 12 sewing machines distributed to the women, the battalion also handed over various sports articles and sports uniforms with an aim to promote sports and motivate the village youth to participate in sports events and help them contribute in the process of nation building.
Second-in-command Akhilesh Kumar Yadav attended the event as chief guest in the presence of deputy commandant M Santosh Singh, assistant commandant O Riza Chanu, chief of Heitinsei village Twipajang, other dignitaries and village authorities.
Akhilesh stated that the unit will continue to serve the people of state by carrying out such humanitarian activities.
In another CAP, CRPF 86 Bn distributed rechargeable solar lamps to the villagers of Kharam Pallen under Kangpokpi district on Wednesday.
The distribution programme was organised under the aegis of CRPF IGP Manipur & Nagaland Sector MS Shekhawat and under the supervision of 86 Bn commandant Mohd Yusuf.
It was attended by second-in-command Deepak Kumar, AC Danial L Hmar, officers of the battalion, village chairman Rangla Rengsenchowng and village secretary Jaichea Philip, among others.
During the civic action programme, 29 rechargeable solar lamp were distributed to the needy villagers on the basis of request by Kharam Pallen village to commandant Yusuf to provide solar lamps during last year's civic action programme.
Addressing as chief guest of the programme, Mohd Yusuf said that the items were distributed solely in the interest of local villagers to fulfil their requirement and to maintain the cordial relation between security forces and locals.
