AR carries out Tree Plantation Drive

Maram Battalion of Jwalamukhi Sector/IGAR (E) carried out a Mega Tree Plantation Drive on the occasion of Muharram by planting around 9650 saplings in its garrison, COBs and nearby villages under Senapati district on the theme 'A Tree for the Future'.
According to a Battalion release, Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar and it is one of the four sacred months of the year when warfare is forbidden.
It is supposed to be the second holiest month after Ramadan.
Muslims brothers mourn the martyrdom of Husayn and his family, honouring the martyrs by prayer and abstinence from joyous events.
Maram Bn commandant along with all officers, JCOs and troops planted plants, shrubs and trees in the area.
The commandant also highlighted about the importance of nature and emphasised that nature should not be taken for granted and must be respected for its values.
He also mentioned that in the absence of human activities during COVID, nature is getting time to clean itself and reclaim its space.
