BTU receives approval for opening LIB course

Imphal, November 19 2021: The Bar Council of India (BCI) has given its approval to Bir Tikendrajit University (BTU), Canchi-pur to open a 3-year LLB and 5-year BA LLB course from the academic year 2021-22 .

According to a letter sent by BCI to the registrar, principal of Department of Law of BTU, and to the secretary of Bar Council of Manipur on November 17; the request of BTU director JP Sharma to grant interim fresh recognition for opening Degree in Law was discussed in detail and approval was given to introduce the course from the academic year 2021-22 .

The letter further conveyed that for the 3-year LLB, the university can form two sections with each having a capacity of 60 students.

The same format is also applied for the 5-year BA LLB course, it added.
