Foundation laid for ITI in Noney

Noney, June 13 2022:
As part of the state government's 100 days action plan, a foundation stone laying programme for the construction of new government ITI in Noney district under Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure (ESDI) was held on Monday at Longmai Part-1, through virtual mode, the foundation stone for the new ITI and other projects was laid by chief minister N Biren in the presence of Skill, Labour, Employment & Entrepreneurship minister H Dingo Singh at City Convention Hall, Imphal.
The G-type ITI building will include administrative block, classroom, chowkidar's quarter, generator set and common toilet block.
The total project cost amounts to about Rs 9.50 crore and is targeted for completion in the next 18 months.
The Manipur Tribal Development Corporation (MTDC) is the implementing agency of the project.
During the function, DC Noney H Guite informed that the project is aimed at catering different types of trades with a capacity of about 90-100 students at a time and it will have different infrastructure facilities.
MTDC chief engineer Laishram Brojendro Singh, MSSD joint director Soibam Ibochouba Singh, DLOs, village authority leaders and CSO leaders were also present at the event.
