N Indrajit enumerates developmental works in Kshetrigao AC

The foundation stone for a multipurpose hall in Naharup Mayai Leikai was laid by MLA of Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency, Nahakpam Indrajit today.
Speaking on the event which was organised by Seva Marup Naharup, N Indrajit said that developmental works are being taken up in Kshetrigao AC though there are some hindrances due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
He continued that the repairing of the river banks of Iril and Kongba rivers in Kshetrigao AC have been started as precautionary measures before any outcome of floods during the rainy season.
The repairing works were initiated after an inspection visit was carried out by him along with Water Resources Minister, Letpao Haokip earlier, he added.
The MLA also assured that the construction of Manipur University of Culture at Wakha will be started soon once the situation of COVID-19 improves.
He also stated that drinking water scarcity will be resolved when Leimaching Water Supply Scheme is fully upgraded and the repairing of Thambalkhong Water Supply Scheme is completed.
Regarding the ongoing issue of scarcity of water in paddy fields due to scanty rainfall, steps have been taken up to pump in water to these fields from rivers and two tube wells will be bored after identifying suitable places for sustainable use, he added.
He also appealed to all to strictly follow the Covid SOPs and guidelines issued by the relevant authorities and stressed on the need for timely vaccination and to undergo Covid test to know one's Covid status in order to combat COVID-19 pandemic effectively.
Pradhan of Naharup Gram Panchayat, Patric Golmei and member of Ward no 2, Th Randhoni also attended the event as presidium members.
