Imphal, December 29 2024: Assam Rifles distributed 10 sewing machines and same number of water storage tanks to residents of L Molnoi village in Churachandpur district on Saturday, as part of its Civic Action Programme.

In a press release, PRO IGAR (S) highlighted that the distribution reflects Assam Rifles' continued commitment to promoting women's empowerment by fostering opportunities for skill development and improving livelihoods in violence-affected regions.

The sewing machines are intended to equip women with the means to generate sustainable income, achieve financial independence, and enhance employment prospects, thereby contributing to improved economic conditions, it explained.

The PRO also informed that distribution of the water storage tanks aims to address water scarcity and enhance the quality of life in remote areas, as the water tanks provided will support the establishment of a sustainable water supply system, ensuring access to safe drinking water and promoting healthier lifestyles.
