Kangpokpi, June 25 2021:
InSIDE-North East in collaboration with Thangkanphai Youth Club and with support from Goonj and Community-Youth Collective distributed dry ration to the most vulnerable people in Saikul.
Covid-19 has rendered many people with lots of difficulties, one such is hunger.
The prolonged lockdown has pushed many families to the extent of going to bed hungry.
There is the possibility of children becoming malnourished, said Hejang Misao, Director InSIDE North East.
He continued that to address such challenges, dry ration containing rice, dal, sugar, atta, maida, edible oil, chana and hygienic items such as Dettol soap and sanitary pads were distributed to the most vulnerable people like the families in home isolation, widows, destitute, handicap, etc, today at Shom-inn Academy, Saikul.
The dry ration was handed over by Seiminlen Doungel, ISL Jamshedpur FC striker.
Len Doungel said that 'Love is everything.
Any place, any society or anything done on earth without love is like hell and will not survive the test.
Today InSIDE-North East could take up all this philanthropic work out of sheer love and that's what makes the people go back with a big smile".
InSIDE North East Director, Hejang Misao said that 350 vulnerable people have been reached out through the programme in the first phase.
He further said that it was done purely on humanitarian ground while adding that they couldn't just sit quietly when there were lots of people from the economically disadvantaged background going without food.
