AR organises security meet, medical camp

Mantripukhri and Keithelmanbi Battalions of IGAR (South) organised security meet on Tuesday at numerous locations of Manipur to infuse better understanding and mutual trust.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the meet saw a healthy participation of village chiefs and village authorities.
A total.of 140 individuals including Manipur Police, youth club members, meira paibi, village headmen and village authorities attended the meet.
Ihe security meet was aimed at updating the locals about the prevailing security situation in the area and likelihood of various anti-national activities by insurgent ahead of the Republic Day celebrations.
The meet provided the platform for discussion of other issues related to drugs abuse and co-operation with the Assam Rifles, the PRO added.
In another release, the PRO informed that a medical camp was conducted 'at Kangvai village in Churachandpur district by Loktak battalion of Assam Rifles on Wednesday as a part of Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme Project for the financial year 2022-23 .
The medical camp was attended by locals of Kangvai and contiguous areas of Churachandpur district.
A well constituted team of medical staff under Assam Rifles Medical Officer (ARMO) of the battalion conducted the medical camp, wherein the team treated the locals and provided medicines to the locals.
A total of 315 local inhabitants, including 110 children and 205 adults were checked and treated during the medical camp.
Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on importance of maintaining good health including advice on diabetes, precaution from common viral diseases was imparted and emphasis on importance of hygiene and sanitation were explained by the doctors.
The battalion also conducted an awareness drive among the local populace about safety markings to be followed to stay away from Diabetes Mellitus, it added.
