Padmashri Bembem accorded warm welcome

Imphal, November 19 2021: Yaipha Lamjing Lup, Pishumthong Ningom Leirak under the aegis of Pukhrambam Tomba and his wife Pukhrambam ongbi Chaobisana felicitated Padmashri awardee international footballer Oinam Bembem in a function held at the club premises on Friday.

Dr LK Singh, Lup president Ibohal Asem and Langpoklakpam Surchandra attended the felicitation function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.

The club presented stole, memento and gifts to Bembem as a mark of honouring her achievement and hard works.

Addressing the gathering, Dr LK Singh said that Manipur is considered as the country's powerhouse of sports and Oinam Bembem has added yet another feather in her illustrious cap by receiving the Padmashri.

The public should understand, respect and promote the hard works she did in order to reach this level.

Budding players should follow her footsteps and strive for excellence in iheir respective fields, he said.
